At the time, we didn\u2019t have a finished product – only an idea. We were in Mountain View, California<\/strong>, working on custom software projects for clients. One evening, sitting in the hotel room after a long day, we started talking about building something of our own – a chat application for teams and companies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Back then, there weren\u2019t many options for business communication. The tools that existed were either too basic or too complex. We wanted to give teams the same comfort and simplicity<\/strong> people already had when chatting with friends and family in consumer apps – but built specifically for work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our company at the time was called D-Bross<\/strong>, and my son was a big fan of the Asterix and Obelix<\/em> movies. The domain brosix.com<\/strong> was available, and we registered it that same night. We didn\u2019t yet have a logo or a product roadmap – just the belief that teams needed a better way to stay connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Six months later, in June 2006<\/strong>, we launched the very first version of Brosix. It had only text chat<\/strong> and file transfer<\/strong>, but that was enough to make teams more connected and productive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Over time, we added new features based on customer needs and real-world use:<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Each new feature came from listening to our users, not from chasing trends. Brosix evolved step by step, always guided by the same goal – to make communication effortless.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Many people today associate Brosix with security and privacy<\/strong>, but interestingly, that wasn\u2019t our original focus. We simply wanted to create an easy, comfortable chat app for work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yet by giving each company its own private communication space, encryption, and full control over who could join, security became a natural byproduct<\/strong> of how Brosix was designed. It wasn\u2019t the goal – it was the result of doing things right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Twenty years later, Brosix looks very different from those early days. We\u2019ve added message replies, mentions, SEEN receipts, message labels, and editing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We\u2019ve improved audio and video quality<\/strong>, published applications for all major platforms: Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone\/iPad, Android and Web<\/strong>, and expanded administrative options in the Web Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What hasn\u2019t changed is our mission – to make team communication simple, private, and distraction-free.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Brosix wouldn\u2019t exist without the thousands of teams who\u2019ve trusted us over the years.
