The Brosix team is pleased to announce that Brosix Instant Messenger was voted one of the top instant messaging programs in the following categories in the About.com 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards:
- 1st place in “Best Enterprise(Business) IM of 2012“: Brosix beat out competitors, including Squiggle, 24im, and Microsoft Lync, for the second year in a row.
- 2nd place in “Best Mac IM of 2012“: Brosix is proud to be recognized in this category, as they offer their private and enterprise instant messaging software for Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems.

Brosix for iPhone is now available

The waiting is over! Now any iPhone, iPod touch or iPad owner can become a Brosix user and use this application on the go.
While it is a text only application for now, most users will find that this is more than adequate for communication when away from their computer.
Along with the convenience of chatting on the go, Brosix for iPhone encrypts messages in the same way as all other versions. In short, you never have to worry about security and privacy related issues.

Brosix Group Management

Brosix has announced a new Group Management feature for enterprise users. Thanks to increased flexibility and a streamlined interface, it is easier than ever to organize groups and efficiently communicate with others. This includes assigning group rights and adding/removing users from groups.
Some of the most notable features of the new group management option include:
- Any-to-any for network – By enabling the “Any-to-any contacts” option in the control panel, all network users will automatically appear in the contact list of every other user.
- One-to-any for network – This allows for one particular user to be visible to everybody in the network.
- Any-to-any for group – For times when all members of a group need to be visible to all others in the same group.
- One-to-any for group – When this option is enabled, a user will see all group members even if this user is not a member of that group.
- Particular user in more than one group – This is a new feature that allows a particular user to participate in multiple groups while also granting specific network rights assigned to the group.
With the new Group Management feature, enterprise users are able to better organize groups and communicate with others.

Brosix 3.1.3 Release Notes

Brosix 3.1.3 is released. It comes with some small improvements here and there.
- New Themes – Black-Blue and Paper themes are new additions to the look and feel of the modern Brosix design.
- An improved video engine – We have a new video engine that makes Brosix compatible with more webcams.
- More languages – Added support for Chinese, Czech, Japanese, Korean and Turkish languages.
- Linux packages – Added installation packages for Ubuntu/Debian and Fedora to improve user experience of Linux community.
- Fixed bugs – We have found some bugs here and there and we have fixed them.
We strongly encourage all users to upgrade to the last version as it brings many benefits and improvements.
